How you treat your skin after your appointment can greatly affect the longevity of your results. Make them last by following these aftercare instructions!
For the first 7 to 10 days after your appointment:
Do not apply water, soap, lotion, or make-up to the area and be careful when taking a shower to avoid getting your brows wet. If you do get water on them by accident, dab your eyebrows immediately with a dry cloth. Make sure not to rub so you don’t disturb the pigment!
Make sure to apply the aftercare ointment (sparingly) once a day with a Q-tip. Use baby wipes to clean the area first if needed.
Avoid the following for up to two weeks after your appointment:
Scrubbing or picking at the treated area. Let the skin heal on it’s own!
Sweating and exercising as it can open up the pores.
Swimming, hot saunas, baths or Jacuzzis.
Touching the eyebrows except when cleaning the area and applying ointment. There are technically tiny wounds healing on your face and touching the area could cause infection.
Excess alcohol.
Dirty spaces or heavily cleaning certain areas where there is a lot of airborne debris.
Following your appointment please avoid the following at all times:
Chemical peels, laser treatments, facials, acne or anti-aging skincare containing Retin-A, glycolic acid or other acids and chemicals on the eyebrows. These will fade your color faster and may discolor your eyebrows.
Sun tanning or salon tanning as it could fade the pigment. If you will be in the sun, be sure to apply sunscreen to protect your color from changing or fading.
Spray Tanning
-
Ensuring that your skin is clean, bare, dry and exfoliated is the most important thing to note before you come in for your appointment. Please follow these instructions to make sure you’re properly prepped:
Exfoliate the skin 2 to 4 times before your session. A good body scrub or exfoliating mitt will allow you to get rid of any dead skin cells and impurities on the body and let the fresh skin cells form a smooth base that your spray tan can stick to. The fresher the skin cells, the longer the life of the tan! Be sure to pay special attention to rough areas like the top of the feet, heels, ankles, elbows, knees, and knuckles.
Any shaving or waxing must occur at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. Your pores will need time to close before applying the solution or else the bronzer can get soaked into the pores.
Be sure to wear loose and dark clothing after the session as tight clothing can rub against the tan and remove color in some areas.
In addition to the above instructions, please avoid:
Using lotions, oil-based exfoliating products, gels, or waxing/shaving creams on the day of the appointment. These can leave a film and change the pH of the skin.
Wearing any existing self-tanner or residue from a former spray tan on the skin.
Taking a shower before the appointment. If a shower is a must, please take it 3 hours prior to the session and rinse only with warm water. If the skin is sweaty, make sure to dry it prior to the application.
Wearing moisturizer, makeup, cream, sunscreen, perfume, or deodorant when you come in for your appointment. A clean canvas is key!
Getting services such as manicures, pedicures, facials, or massages on the day of your appointment. These should be done days before your service.

After your spray tanning appointment it’s important to try not to disturb the solution as much as possible. Follow these aftercare tips to get long-lasting results!
During the development period:
Please wait for 8 to 12 hours or 1 to 5 hours before showering, depending on the tanning solution used.
Be sure to avoid activities that provoke sweating or any contact with rain or snow. If this can’t be avoided be sure to wear long, concealing clothes and bring an umbrella!
Do not apply moisturizer, cream, makeup, or perfume.
If your session takes place in the evening, make sure the product is dry before going to bed and wear long clothes that cover your skin if possible.
If you accidentally come into contact with liquids or a wet cloth while the solution is still developing, you can apply a fine layer of self-tanning lotion on the affected area. After your first shower, the results should look even.
Once the solution has set, be sure to rinse your body and face thoroughly until the water runs clear. For the first shower, we recommend not using soap.
After the development period, for best results:
Please avoid any body washes, lotions and sunscreens that contain alcohol, parabens, mineral or petroleum oil, sulfates, or perfumes as they can affect the outcome of the color especially any Dove body products. This includes perfumes with alcohol.
Be sure to moisturize the skin daily with an appropriate lotion to maintain the glowy look.
Do not exfoliate the skin after your spray tan has been applied and set. Only once the solution starts to fade should you exfoliate the skin again in order to remove the old tan residue and prepare for your next appointment.
Use gentle facial cleansers and avoid any anti-acne, oily or exfoliating ones as they can dehydrate the skin.
Avoid rough bristle brushes and opt for soft ones instead.
Do not the wax areas where the solution has been applied and be delicate while shaving.
Excessive sweating, hot tubs, saunas, long baths, and pools can cause a faster fading so avoid them if possible.
